Actually, my old Acer linux laptop still works pretty well. The battery is kind of worrying but overall I got it back to a usable state. (Having tidy dotfiles really helped with setting it up again). Going to keep working on my utils project with it.
Micro Blog
My desktop PC broke (some hardware related issue) so I won’t be very active on GitHub for the foreseeable future.
Started working on a Zellij plugin called zj-alias. I’m using the Zelligo library so I can write it in Go instead of Rust.
The plugin is supposed to read my bashrc_config file in my dotfiles repo and let me show a quick pop-up window of my custom bash aliases when I’m in a terminal session in Zellij.
Added a first version of the workout-tracker built with Go.
Re-wrote my little beep program in Go.
Trying out Jetbrains Rider for the first time because since yesterday it’s free for non-commercial use.
Found a neat GitHub repo which let’s you practice common vim motions. It’s called vim-katas.
It’s 1 AM but I finally managed to set up a first version of the search feature :)
Failed horribly at setting up a simple search for this site.
Decided to also put more effort into music production in the near future. I want to get more proficient with Ableton Live and actually work on some ideas and maybe record something.
Oh god, I started messing around with getting Emacs 30 to run on WSL to try out Emacs-Kick. Really need to stop fucking around with editors and just work on actual projects and learning Go.
Decided to (again) focus on getting better at programming in Go. I’m going to try to regularly work on small Go projects and do tutorials & read some Go books.
Implemented archive functionality - this means that the rewrite of matkv.dev is mostly done. The main functionality works, I just need to re-add the old content now.
Lost a good 1.5 hours of work on this website because I didn’t push my local commits to GitHub and then accidentally deleted the whole repo folder :( Don’t forget to push your commits.
Bought a Sigma 000-15M guitar.
Started working on a tool in Go to convert my old book reviews for this new site.
Visited Infobip Shift dev conference in Zadar.
Improved styling of tags and optionally show date on post.
Published the completely rewritten site for the first time.
